Director of Tourism, Parks, and Recreation

The Tourism, Parks, and Recreation Department strives to advance the City of Bennettsville to travelers and hometown folks alike through the promotion of activities, businesses, and events for all ages.

Main Street Bennettsville is a member of Main Street South Carolina, the state network for downtown development. The program is managed through the Tourism, Parks, and Recreation Department and strives to organize community partners, promote and celebrate downtown’s quality of life and historic character, promote and enhance public art and public spaces, conduct image assessments, utilize all economic development resources, and promote/recruit new businesses for the downtown historic overlay district.

The City of Bennettsville operates eight (8) parks for the public’s enjoyment within the city limits: Kids Land Park, McLeod Street Basketball Park, Hodges Park, Smith Park, Woodland Gardens, Woodland Playground, Marlboro Street Baseball Park, and Marlboro Street Tennis Park. All facilities accept reservations for private and public functions.

Bennettsville Community Center located on North Marlboro Street offers rental event space with a commercial catering kitchen, exercise studio, and individual classrooms. The main event has the capacity of 428 people. A booking calendar can be viewed at
