Through design, Main Street Bennettsville aims to create an attractive downtown while preserving Bennettsville's unique architectural features. 

The Design Committee focuses on the physical and visual elements of downtown, capitalizing on the unique assets that set our historic district apart. From enhancing storefronts to beautifying public spaces, this committee makes Bennettsville shine.

Pollinator Planters


We installed 12 pollinator planters in downtown Bennettsville! These beautiful planters not only benefit all businesses, residents, and visitors by adding vibrancy to our community, but also support our local bee, butterfly, and pollinator community. Murals & Public Art


Main Street Bennettsville aims to enhance the cultural and visual appeal of downtown Bennettsville's historic district by engaging local artists, collaborating with businesses, and involving the community in the selection and installation of murals and public art. 

Main Street Bennettsville has initiated a Request for Proposals for a downtown public mural project. This project will assist in establishing a public art presence in downtown Bennettsville. This project is funded in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Façade Grants


The City of Bennettsville has a Façade Grant opportunity for businesses located in the Downtown Bennettsville Historic Preservation District. The Façade Grant provides a reimbursement for up to 50% of the total cost for the approved project. The maximum award amount is $5000 and the minimum award amount is $250.

Window Displays


Main Street Bennettsville coordinates seasonal window display contest amongst downtown businesses. These challenges assist in drawing locals to downtown and provide a refreshing and inviting environment for visitors.
