The City of Bennettsville is thrilled to announce the launch of the first phase of a significant water and sewer upgrade project. Funded through a $10 million South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) South Carolina Infrastructure Investment Program (SCIIP) grant, this project will enhance essential infrastructure to our city.
The grant will support water line improvements in the Broad Street, Marlboro Street, and Lake Wallace areas, as well as sewer line improvements in the Broad Street and Lake Wallace areas, and meter upgrades.
City officials, project engineers, and contractors met on Wednesday to finalize preconstruction plans for the Lake Wallace area upgrades. Construction is set to begin on January 27, 2025, with an expected completion timeline of 120 days.
This project represents a vital step in our commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for our community. The City of Bennettsville looks forward to the positive impact these upgrades will bring.
