City of Bennettsville Awarded $1.79 Million for Home Repair Grants

The City of Bennettsville is proud to announce that it has been approved to receive $1,798,877 in funding through the South Carolina Housing Trust Fund’s Disaster Assistance Program. This funding will provide much-needed home repair grants to eligible homeowners for damages caused by extreme weather events and storms.

Eligible homeowners will be able to receive up to $30,000 in repairs per home, addressing critical housing needs throughout the city, particularly in the Richardson Park and Shady Rest communities. These funds will allow the City to directly assist residents in restoring and improving their homes, reinforcing our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all citizens.

"Our team will begin reaching out to homeowners who submitted pre-application information in the coming weeks," said William Simon, city administrator. "We are also looking forward to partnering with our local contractors to help provide these much-needed repairs to our community."

This investment aligns with the City’s vision of creating a safer, more resilient Bennettsville by addressing housing challenges and ensuring residents have secure and stable homes. The City is deeply grateful to the South Carolina Housing Trust Fund for their commitment to this effort and for supporting our community through this vital program.
